A one of kind festival is what you will find if you visit Edmonton from June 23 to July 5, 2006 if you venture to The Works International Visual Arts Society. In 2005, the festival had over 500 artists and this year is expected to be even bigger and better. A one of kind experience in art and design, which is celebrating its 20th year.

The Citadel is where it is happening and has been for many years. This exquisite theatre has many unique performances planned throughout the year including such great plays as "Guys and Dolls" and "Peter Pan". When you visit Edmonton you always have the opportunity to take in a show at the Citadel where they have plays featured every day of the week including some other great events such as the Wine Maker's Dinner.

The Comedy Art's Festival will be a major event this year in Edmonton. In the past, since its beginning in 2000 it has brought many a laugh to those that attended. Each person left with a smile on his or her face and a joke or two to remember to tell their friends.

If the wide side is more your style then you will absolutely love the Canadian Finals Rodeo. It has everything a cowboy or cowgirl needs such as bull riding, steer wrestling and saddle bronco riding. This year the rodeo will be held November 8 - 12, 2006. So, mark your calendar, shine up your cowboy boots, and get ready for the excitement. During the Canadian Finals Rodeo you may wish to give your ears a treat by visiting the Country Vocal Spotlight. Here you will enjoy new and unique country singing talents from all over Canada.

Shakespeare is still alive in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada or at least his plays are. At River City Shakespeare Festival, which is performed yearly at Heritage Amphitheatre in Hawrelak Park you can enjoy all the romance, comedy and of course the tragedy of the most well known plays of Shakespeare. A summer camp is also available for children 8 to 16 years of age. The camp will guide them in performance, education, and enjoyment of the world of theatre, and will open the doors of the theatre to children that wish to learn and explore their own talents.

A visit to Edmonton would not be complete if you do not enjoy comedy and dinner at the Comic Strip. Here you will be able to enjoy some of the most popular comedians around such as Orny Adams, Paul Provenza, and Gilbert Gottfried. Other great performers and performances are offered several nights such as Improv Night featuring their own in-house Improv troupe Skit For Brains.
